National Heroes Day in the Cayman Islands
On 28th January, 2008, come join our largest national celebration of the heritage and culture that makes us who we are.
National Heroes Day 2008 commemorates Caymanís maritime past and includes all the traditional elements of the grand occasion: uniform parades, special awards and laying of wreaths for those gone before us.
Enjoy the moving tones of the childrenís choir and the musical mastery of the internationally acclaimed Brass Band of Battle Creek. Then catch up with family and friends whilst sampling the culinary delights at a reception after the official ceremony.
Admission is free and everyone is invited. Guests are asked to be seated by 9:15 promptly and reminded not to forget their wreaths.
Sentiment of National Heroes Day 2008:
The boat moved swiftly through the water, Carrying hope and futures back to shore. Her lines and sails entwined with hearts and prayer: She was as Caymanian as them all.
